Filming Blog

Originally, I wanted to film the music video in order from the first verse to the chorus. However, it did not turn out that way. I had to switch the days of filming to ensure that everyone was able to make it to the shoot.  On this day, I filmed the solo scenes with my main actress. In the beginning, I had to ensure that the actress was up to par.  I aided her with her makeup and hair. This took approximately an hour of filming time because I had to make sure that she was comfortable and confident. Fortunately for me, the actress wasn’t camera shy. However, I made sure that she was satisfied with the clips that I had in mind. The filming location was in her room. I experimented with different lighting to find the perfect one. The lighting established the tone of the video. I wanted it to be bright and bubbly. The scenes are supposed to express a girl going through a crush like phase. Every teenager will eventually experience these emotions of some sort. These scenes were a little chaotic to film. The model and I had different opinions about how the different props should be used.  However, since I am the creative director I considered these ideas. The different perspectives that she wanted to portray helped me create a better artistic vision. Ultimately, we came to a compromise that would make the music video look better.  The props that I used were the journal, writing utensil, teddy bear. The actress was able to use these props to portray these scenes made my job easier.
