1 Filming Blog : Hair Salon
On Sunday, I filmed with my two of my friends. As the director, I told them everything that they needed to do. I gave them directions on where to stand, how to act, and overall the entire rundown of how I wanted to film the commercial. I brought the main prop that was used for filming. In the first scene, I used a tilt to show the model's distress, trying to find a good picture. I had to reshoot that scene a few times because my actress still was getting used to being on camera. In the beginning scenes, I had to make sure that both actresses' interaction wasn't awkward. I to film the shots and angles that went along with the set. I had to make sure that I filmed those scenes quickly because the sky was getting grey and the lighting was getting dull. I then went to the primary location, the hair salon. Here we shot the rest of the commercial. When I first started filming everything went smoothly. Then, a while later, a few clients came in to get their hair done. I had to pause the filming process and wait for everyone to finish. While this "break" occurred, I had to do my model's hair for the ending scene. I filmed the "hair washing" scene and used a high angle to portray this. I also filmed the scenes of the product displayed in various ways. The transformation of the model took me a few hours to complete. Afterward, I had the film the ending scenes before I could film the middle. Overall, I filmed my commercial effectively and effectively.
